Some members of the Cultural Association for Archaeology and Sciences of Antiquity (ARCIAN), the Organising Committee of the II International Meeting of Young Researchers in Archaeology and Sciences of Antiquity (EINIACA) and Marta Lois, councillor of Equality, Economic development and Tourism of Santiago de Compostela’s city council, organised a press conference where they presented the II EINIACA Congress, to be held on the 20, 21 and 22nd July at the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Santiago de Compostela.

Alia Vázquez and Rebeca Cordeiro, both representing ARCIAN and the EINIACA’s organising committee said: “The congress will be divided into several sessions, in which many topics will be discussed, from Prehistory to Late Antiquity”. The Organising committee stated that those students who are conducting MA studies and whose work is related to the conference topic are invited to participate. On the other hand, PhD students who had already read their PhD later than 2013 are also encouraged to participate, and also researchers who had completed a degree or MA although they do not belong to any academic institution or are registered in a doctorate program.

The committee’s representatives also stated: “This congress was created by a need to stimulate the research in the Archaeology, Prehistory and Ancient History, as well as to facilitate the action of new researchers. ARCIAN was born as a cultural association that promotes the progress of these disciplines, especially with the new researchers. The I ENIACA got a resounding success since it went to over a hundred people, of whom a large number were foreign researchers. So, the organising committee expects that this second edition will continue in the same line.
